Mark started his life in design studying Industrial Design Engineering in Delft. After some internships at design agencies, which happened to do design packaging for Heineken, he decided to specialize in brand- and packaging design. For the next 10 years Mark grew from consultant to partner in a brand design firm, with clients ranging from supermarkets to broadcasters, from financials to beer. With the goal to broaden his view on strategy development, Mark joined a Growth Strategy Consultancy. The unique angle of this consultancy was the combination of fact based business analyses with consumer insight based creativity. One of the focus areas was connecting with Young Adults and occasion based modelling, Heineken was one of the major clients.
In August 2005 Mark became Head of Heineken Brand Design in the Global Marketing Communication Heineken Brand Team at Group Commerce, based in Amsterdam. He coursed Industrial Design Engineering at the Technical University of Delft (1991 ).
