'Having studied Mechanical Engineering for 4 years in Newcastle and in France, a career in soft drinks seemed a logical choice for someone that liked fast machines, fizzy pop and solving problems. A graduate scheme and seven years at Britvic Soft Drinks followed in roles that encompassed production, project management and purchasing before the bright lights and bean bags of innocent drinks beckoned. Four years as Head of Packaging provided the opportunity to try and leave the world a little bit better by developing more sustainable, creative and cost effective packaging and a top team to achieve all of this.

The lure of retail and the opportunity to work with a multitude of different packaging formats meant a move to Marks and Spencer in May 2012 as a packaging technologist within the Food Group. Success in this role will involve bringing packaging innovation to market, helping the retailer achieve its Plan A targets and developing packaging that is both easy and intuitive to use.’
